Position: Credit and Collections Representative
Location: On-site (Local candidates only)
Pay Rate: $28-$30 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Job Description
The Credit and Collections Representative is responsible for managing credit limits, payment terms, and collections activity for an assigned portfolio of accounts. This role ensures timely follow-up on outstanding receivables, evaluates credit risk, and provides support to internal teams and customers regarding account status, payments, and discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities

Review orders on credit hold and determine release or continuation based on account status.

Collect outstanding balances on delinquent accounts and partner with Sales Consultants on follow-up strategies.

Identify potential bad debt accounts, attempt internal recovery, and escalate to management when required.

Respond to customer inquiries regarding statements, balances, and account details through phone and written communication.

Assist in reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies.

Review and adjust customer credit limits upon request, with authority to increase limits up to 25,000 dollars.

Prepare and recommend accounts for placement with third-party collection agencies when appropriate.

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes, payment issues, and customer inquiries.

Assist with payment portal registrations and electronic delivery setup requests.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Three to five years of credit and collections experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional interpersonal abilities.

Ability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries from customers, suppliers, and internal staff.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and proactively across departments.

Strong planning, prioritization, and execution skills in a fast-paced environment.

Customer service oriented, dependable, and responsive.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making.

Ability to adapt to shifting priorities or circumstances.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft and credit reporting platforms such as Dun and Bradstreet or Creditsafe.
