Laminator Operator

A manufacturing facility in Mundelein, IL is seeking Machine Operators to set up, operate, and maintain production equipment that applies protective or decorative films and adhesives to materials such as paper and plastic. This role involves monitoring machine performance, maintaining quality standards, and troubleshooting production issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Location: Mundelein, IL
Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Schedule:

Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
12-hour rotating 2-2-3 schedule. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate production lines according to product specifications
• Mix adhesives and coatings as required for production
• Record machine settings and process conditions during production runs
• Perform and document quality checks to ensure product standards are met
• Operate equipment efficiently to meet or exceed production targets
• Troubleshoot equipment and product issues as they arise
• Maintain machines and work areas in clean and safe working condition
• Work with solvents and follow all required personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures
• Support the Site SDS program, including assisting with employee training
• Order consumable supplies approved for designated storage areas
• Serve as a site contact for controlled material usage on production lines
• Follow workplace organization and continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and cross-training
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in press operations, blown film, adhesive lamination, pouch making, or slitting processes preferred
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications and/or blueprints
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• Ability to work safely with solvents and manufacturing equipment
• Ability to work a rotating 2-2-3 night shift schedule including weekends and holidays
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain production documentation

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to machinery, production noise, and chemicals used in coating and lamination processes. Proper safety equipment and training will be provided.
