1st Shift Drafting Intern

Drafting Intern (Paid Internship – Potential Full-Time Opportunity)

Have you ever wanted a career in construction or engineering but prefer being part of the technical/office side rather than working in the field? We are seeking a Drafting Intern to join a growing structural steel drafting team. This is a paid, full-time internship designed to train candidates from the ground up with the potential for full-time hire after 90 days, based on performance and business needs.

Location: El Mirage, AZ

Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:15 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: Starting at $17.00/hour (based on experience)

Key Requirement (Critical):

• Must be able to visualize drawings in 3D form

• Ability to look at a drawing and understand what it represents

• This cannot be taught and is essential for success in the role

Duties:

• Create, review, and modify structural fabrication drawings

• Read and interpret technical drawings and documents

• Perform data entry and assist with document control

• Support file management and drawing transmission processes

• Collaborate with drafting and production teams

• Learn drafting standards and industry practices

• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all work

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Strong basic math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry)

• Strong computer skills

• Detail-oriented with willingness to learn

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred (Not Required):

• Coursework or experience in drafting, technical graphics, or design

• Hands-on experience in machining, fabrication, or similar fields
